Community Guidelines
These Community Guidelines set out the standards of behaviour expected from everyone using the Tool-O Platform.
1. INTRODUCTION
1.1 Purpose
These Community Guidelines set out the standards of behaviour expected from everyone using the Tool-O Platform.
The purpose of these Guidelines is to help create a safe, respectful, trustworthy and welcoming community for Owners, Borrowers and all other Users.
These Guidelines complement the Tool-O Terms of Use and Platform Policies.
1.2 Application
These Guidelines apply whenever you:
- create an Account;
- browse the Platform;
- create Listings;
- make Bookings;
- communicate with other Users;
- submit reviews;
- participate in Claims or disputes;
- otherwise use the Platform.
1.3 Community Values
Tool-O encourages all Users to:
- act honestly;
- communicate respectfully;
- treat others fairly;
- respect property;
- support a safe marketplace;
- cooperate in good faith.
1.4 Platform Safety
The safety of our community is a shared responsibility.
Every User plays an important role in maintaining a secure and trustworthy marketplace.
1.5 Relationship with Other Policies
These Guidelines should be read together with the:
- Terms of Use;
- Acceptable Use Policy;
- Content Policy;
- Claims Policy;
- Dispute Resolution Policy;
- Privacy Policy;
- all other Platform policies.
1.6 Updates
Tool-O may amend these Community Guidelines from time to time.
The latest version published on the Platform replaces all previous versions.
2. RESPECT OTHER USERS
2.1 Be Respectful
Treat every User with courtesy, honesty and respect.
Constructive communication helps build a stronger marketplace.
2.2 Communicate Clearly
When communicating with another User:
- be polite;
- respond promptly where reasonably possible;
- provide accurate information;
- communicate honestly;
- keep discussions relevant to the Booking.
2.3 Harassment
Do not:
- harass;
- threaten;
- intimidate;
- bully;
- discriminate against;
- stalk;
- abuse;
- insult other Users.
Harassment in any form is not tolerated.
2.4 Honesty
Always be truthful when:
- creating Listings;
- making Bookings;
- communicating with Users;
- submitting reviews;
- participating in Claims;
- responding to disputes.
2.5 Respect Property
Borrowers should treat rented Tools with the same care that a reasonable owner would exercise over their own property.
Owners should provide Tools in a condition that is reasonably consistent with their Listings.
2.6 Respect Time
Users should:
- arrive on time;
- communicate delays promptly;
- honour agreed collection arrangements;
- honour agreed delivery arrangements;
- return Tools when agreed.
2.7 Respect Privacy
Respect the privacy of other Users.
Do not request or disclose another person's private information unless reasonably necessary for the Booking and permitted by applicable law.
2.8 Fair Dealing
Deal fairly with other Users.
Do not attempt to take unfair advantage of another User's mistake, lack of experience or misunderstanding.
2.9 Good Faith
Approach every Booking with the intention of achieving a fair and successful rental experience for everyone involved.
2.10 Community Spirit
A respectful community benefits everyone.
Users who consistently communicate professionally and cooperate with others help build a stronger, safer and more trusted Tool-O marketplace.
3. SAFE AND RESPONSIBLE RENTING
3.1 Use Tools Safely
Borrowers should only use Tools:
- for their intended purpose;
- in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions where available;
- with appropriate care;
- in compliance with applicable laws.
3.2 Know Your Limits
Only rent and operate Tools that you know how to use safely.
If you are unsure how to operate a Tool, seek appropriate guidance before use.
3.3 Inspect Before Use
Owners and Borrowers are encouraged to inspect the Tool during handover.
Where appropriate:
- take photographs;
- record existing wear;
- confirm included accessories;
- report any concerns before use.
3.4 Report Problems Promptly
If something goes wrong during a Booking:
- notify the other User promptly;
- provide accurate information;
- document the issue where appropriate;
- cooperate in finding a reasonable solution.
3.5 Return Tools Responsibly
Borrowers should return Tools:
- on time;
- reasonably clean;
- with included accessories;
- in substantially the same condition, allowing for fair wear and tear.
3.6 Keep the Community Safe
Report behaviour that reasonably appears to involve:
- fraud;
- unsafe conduct;
- stolen property;
- harassment;
- serious misuse of the Platform;
- other conduct that may place Users at risk.
3.7 Protect Accounts
Users should:
- keep passwords secure;
- enable available security features;
- avoid sharing Account credentials;
- report suspected unauthorised access promptly.
3.8 Fair Reviews
Leave reviews that are:
- honest;
- respectful;
- relevant;
- based upon your genuine experience.
Reviews should help other Users make informed decisions.
3.9 Support the Marketplace
Every positive interaction strengthens the Tool-O community.
Respectful communication, honest Listings, careful use of Tools and fair treatment of others help build long-term trust.
3.10 Lead by Example
Users are encouraged to demonstrate the standards they would expect from others.
A professional, respectful and safety-focused community benefits everyone.
4. ENFORCEMENT
4.1 General
These Community Guidelines are intended to encourage positive participation within the Tool-O community.
Serious or repeated breaches may result in action under the Terms of Use or other Platform policies.
4.2 Reporting Concerns
Users are encouraged to report conduct that reasonably appears to involve:
- fraud;
- harassment;
- unsafe behaviour;
- misleading Listings;
- abuse of the Platform;
- other conduct inconsistent with these Guidelines.
Reports should be made honestly and in good faith.
4.3 Investigation
Tool-O may investigate reported conduct using information including:
- Booking records;
- communications;
- photographs;
- videos;
- reviews;
- Claims;
- dispute records;
- other relevant information.
4.4 Possible Action
Where Tool-O reasonably believes that a User has breached these Guidelines or other Platform policies, Tool-O may take action including:
- providing guidance;
- issuing warnings;
- removing content;
- restricting Listings;
- suspending Bookings;
- restricting Accounts;
- suspending or terminating Platform access.
4.5 Fair Process
Where reasonably practicable, Tool-O will seek to assess reported conduct fairly and impartially based on the available information.
4.6 Community Responsibility
Maintaining a safe and respectful marketplace is a shared responsibility.
Users are encouraged to:
- communicate professionally;
- resolve issues respectfully;
- cooperate during investigations;
- support fair outcomes.
4.7 Relationship with Other Policies
These Community Guidelines complement, but do not replace, the:
- Terms of Use;
- Acceptable Use Policy;
- Content Policy;
- Claims Policy;
- Dispute Resolution Policy;
- Privacy Policy;
- all other Platform policies.
Where there is any inconsistency, the Terms of Use prevail to the extent permitted by applicable law.
4.8 Policy Changes
Tool-O may amend these Community Guidelines from time to time.
The most current version published on the Platform replaces all previous versions.
Continued use of the Platform after an updated version becomes effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Guidelines to the extent permitted by applicable law.
